5,000 tickets already snapped up for Cup tie

-

COVENTRY City’s forthcoming FA Cup clash with landlords Birmingham City has sparked interest among fans who have been quick to get their tickets for the tie.

The Sky Blues have already sold more than 5,000 tickets in the first 24 hours of being on sale for the fourth-round contest at St Andrew’s, which takes place next Saturday, January 25, with a 3pm kick-off.

City have an average attendance of around 6,000 at their groundshare venue and early sales indicate that the fixture will be the biggest ‘home’ crowd the club will have enjoyed since moving away from the Ricoh Arena in the summer.

Mark Robins’ men have been drawn as the home team and the two clubs have agreed to split their allocation half and half for the unique occasion when

Blues will be the away team at their own stadium.

As of 11am yesterday, Coventry had sold more than 5,000 tickets for the game.

Season ticket holders are urged to purchase their reserved seats as soon as possible and ahead of the midnight deadline on Monday.

Prices have been reduced for the tie compared to league matches.

The prices for non season ticket holders will be £20 for adults and £15 for concessions (seniors (over 60s), young adults (21 and under), students, and members of the armed forces. Tickets for under-18s cost £10.

For season ticket holders, the prices are £18, £13 and £8.

Coventry fans will be in the Kop Stand as usual, selling into the Tilton Road Stand if required.
