STAR WARS: THE RISE OF KYLO REN #1

THE movies may not have fleshed out Kylo Ren’s character as much as some fans would have liked, but a new comic series is about to explore his back story.

The tale of how Ben Solo, son of Leia Organa and Han Solo fell to the dark side is finally told in all its torrid glory. As Luke Skywalker’s most promising pupil, young Jedi Ben has the potential to be a great force for light.

But the Skywalker legacy casts a long shadow and Darth Vader’s blood runs in Ben’s veins.

Voices call from both his past and his future – Snoke and The Knights of Ren await.

Written by Charles Soule, with art by Will Sliney, Star Wars: The Rise of Kylo Ren #1 is out now priced £4.50.

RECOILING ANACONDA

SURPRISE 1997 hit Anaconda looks like it might get a reboot.

While critics slated the movie, starring Ice Cube, inset, Jennifer Lopez, Jon Voight and Owen Wilson, it went on to make $136.8m for Columbia Pictures.

Now the studio is said to be looking to ‘reimagine’ the film, in a similar style to recent Jason Statham hit, The Meg. A script has apparently been commissioned from Evan Daugherty, the writer behind Tomb Raider and Snow White and the Huntsman.

THE LIGHTHOUSE

THIS week sees the highly anticipated movie, The Lighthouse land in selected cinemas.

The psychological horror stars Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson, pictured, as lighthouse keepers who start to lose their sanity when a storm strands them on the remote island where they are stationed. Directed by Robert Eggers, who helmed 2015’s The Witch, the film is based on an unfinished tale by Edgar Allen Poe. Shot in black and white, The Lighthouse has caused quite a stir among critics, who describe it as ‘darkly exciting’. See it yourself from Friday.
