Harry potters around Sandbanks
PICK OF THE DAY
HARRY REDKNAPP’S SANDBANKS SUMMER ITV, 8pm
AFTER Harry Redknapp won over the nation in I’m A Celebrity, with his love for his wife Sandra and jam roly poly hitting the sweet spot, ITV is running with it.
This isn’t the first TV show from the former football manager, who reunited retired England players in Harry’s Heroes last year.
Now he gets this four-parter, which is essentially a tour of the exclusive place he has called home for 20 years – Sandbanks, on the
Dorset coast.
“It’s one of the world’s most exclusive stretches of coastline,” says the 72-year-old, who started life in London’s
East End before making it to the home of the most expensive real estate in the world.
Property prices are higher than in Monte
Carlo or Manhattan – one row of just 13 houses is worth over £90 million.
“It’s home to big shots, billionaires and me,” grins Harry.
Over the series, Harry invites friends and family over to his house and also embarks on a tour of the place nicknamed the Hamptons of England.
Expect to see the likes of old jungle pals, football friends and the rest of the Redknapp clan, including of course his wife of 51 years, Sandra.
In this episode, he’s joined by Neil ‘Razor’ Ruddock and Joe Pasquale as they become medieval knights, take to the skies at an air festival and do a spot of house hunting for Razor.
If you are a fan of Harry’s laid-back brand of banter – and who isn’t? – then this is an enjoyable tour from a charming guide.
