5 fun things to do while in isolation
If you’re running out of ways to keep your kids occupied, we’re here to help
IT’S bad enough being stuck indoors, but if you’re selfisolating from coronavirus as a family it can be a real challenge keeping kids entertained.
So how do you stop them (and yourself) from climbing the walls?
1 TREASURE HUNT
IT doesn’t have to be for something expensive, a chocolate egg will do, just write some simple cryptic clues and leave them around the house or garden, so one leads on to the next and finally to the prize.
Make them tricky so kids have to look up answers e.g: ‘This was invented by John Logie Baird’ (then hide one behind the telly!).
2 PLAY JUICE PONG
IT’S just like beer pong … without the beer! You need paper cups, juice and ping pong balls. Split into teams and lay out six cups for each team in a triangle at the ends of the dining table. Take turns throwing the ball into the other team’s cups. If you get one in, one of them drinks it and it gets taken away. The team with cups left at the end wins.
3 INDOOR BASKETBALL
JUST get a bucket and roll up a pair of socks. Put the bucket halfway down the hall and then keep moving it further away each time everyone gets a shot in. Make things harder for older players by blindfolding them.
4 MAKE A TIKTOK VIDEO
IF Gordon Ramsay can do it, then so can you. Master the moves of the macarena along with the rest of the UK, or use Tiktok to create a fun video of the family’s daily walk.
5 LEARN WITH THE CELEBS
GO on Youtube to join Joe Wicks for PE, Myleene Klass for music or Oti Mabuse for dance; and go to themathsfactor.com to get Carol Vorderman to help with the sums!
