Second kfc opens drive-thru in cov after huge queues at first one

-

A SECOND KFC has opened its drive-thru in Coventry.

There were huge queues at the first of the fast food chains to open in Tile Hill.

Customers reported waiting for up to an hour and a half for a taste of fried chicken.

Now a second store will be open to drive-thru customers, hopefully reducing the queues. The KFC in Austin Drive in Court House Green is now open.

No restaurants are open for eating in, as the Government rules won’t allow that until at least the start of June.

But branches are operating across the country operating either delivery or drive-thru options.

New rules are in place to help ensure social distancing and stop the spread of Covid-19.

The rules include a pared-down menu - with no oven-baked items. That includes the vegan burger.

The drive-thrus will follow stringent new social distancing and safety procedures - which include:

Smaller kitchen team to help observe social distancing, with separation of our guests and our delivery drivers.

Increased hand washing and surface sanitising.

New signage and floor stickers to help delivery drivers keep a safe distance apart. Contactless handover of food, with contactless payment preferred and introduction of a limited menu to help the smaller team avoid switching kitchen stations, with clear floor markings.

Installation of protective screens where appropriate, with non-medical grade face masks and gloves made available for our teams.
