AN incredible gesture from a Nuneaton family will ensure that an NHS worker can get back on the road after cruel catalytic converter thieves wrote off her car.

Sisters Linda Hartlett and Kath Burgoine wanted to give away the car that belonged to heir late dad, Peter Kenny, to a worthy NHS worker for free.

Mrs Hartlett, who lives in Whitestone, put an appeal for nominations for a worthy recipient on Facebook and was stunned to receive thousands of shares and hundreds of suggestions.

But it was the story of how NHS mental health support worker Isobel who was left with no transport because of the catalytic converter theft which touched their hearts.

“Isobel’s cousin Cathy contacted me and explained what had happened to her,” said mum-of-two Linda.

“She is a key worker, so is her husband and they have children and she really needed a car to make sure she could carry on with her work.

“We were so pleased to be able to help her, it was quite emotional when we met her and her cousin.

“We are both so glad that it as gone to a good home. It has its MOT until October, even if it only lasts until then, it at leasts helps them out now.

“She (Isobel) was so grateful, we could tell it meant a lot and we were just so pleased the car has gone to a good home.”

But before the Narboroughbased resident picked the car up Jason Frost, a mobile valet, valeted the car for free.

“He did a fantastic job and donated his time for free, which was so kind of him,” added Linda.
