HOUSEHOLDERS are being warned they are limited to one visit per fortnight to Nuneaton’s tip after reports of block bookings being made.

The Telegraph has received reports that some residents booked back-to-back slots to use Judkins tip now that it has been reopened.

But it has been stressed by Warwickshire

County Council that people can only have one slot per fortnight.

As reported, demand for appointments was so high that all of the slots for the Tuttle Hill-based facility were booked in just over 24 hours.

More slots have since been released according to a Shire Hall spokesman and others are set to follow.

“We would also like to thank the residents of Warwickshire for prebooking visits to the recycling centres and not creating queues which could prevent emergency services and key workers from getting around,” they added.

Changes had to be made in preparation for their reopening of the tips.

Among the most significant of the new rules for customers, which also include having to book an appointment, is the opening hours at the

Tuttle Hill based tip. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday - 9.30 am to 3.15pm. Wednesday - 9.30am to 6.15pm. Saturday and Sunday 8.30am to 5.45pm.

Shire Hall chiefs say that householders should expect differences in traffic management arrangements around the site entrances and differences within the sites in terms of parking layout and container availability.

As previously reported, Shire Hall has issued warnings to those who plan on using the tips.

People cannot simply turn up at the tip or they will be turned away.

Those who turn up without an appointment or at the wrong time will not be allowed in.

Warwickshire County Council has also warned that those who do not stick to social distancing guidelines once inside the tip could face a fine.
