Enobakhare in ‘come and get me’ plea

-

FORMER Coventry City loan sensation Bright Enobakhare has posted a string of home workout videos on his Instagram page as a ‘come and get me’ plea to interested clubs.

The former Wolves ace (pictured) is a free agent after his contract came to an abrupt end at Molineux.

His loan spell in the Championship with Wigan during the first half of this season failed to hit the heights of his previous successes before a failed January deadline day move to Birmingham City left him sat on the sidelines at Premier League Wolves for the remainder of the season.

Now on the hunt for a new employer, he has showcased that he is still at peak fitness by posting a lengthy Instagram story packed with fitness drills and sprints carried out safely, with social distancing measures, at a Manchester park.

But the Nigerian may struggle to find a new club ahead of next season, even after his mega six months with the Sky Blues that saw him scoop the club’s young player of the year award.

During 18 games for City, Enobakhare scored six and put on a stellar show in a memorable win at Sunderland.

But the pandemic has halted the desire from a majority of clubs to spend big money on talented players as they assess how they will bring players out of furlough and still balance the books.

Enobakhare’s wage demands are expected to eclipse League One level, but he could still draw Championship interest, including from the Sky Blues who are on the brink of promotion.

City were interested in his services in January.

Mark Robins said after January’s deadline day: “Bright was someone I had a phone call about the other day, and they were sort of making overtures that he’d be interested in coming back. Fine. Then in the next breath there was change and he was on his way to Birmingham.”

He added: “If I was to do something, someone else would have to move out so I could free things up for that.”
