Howley: I was sounded out for a job at Wasps

window with the likes of Fulham and QPR linked with his services.

The ex-chelsea and Brentford star will see his contract expire at the end of the season - but Robins is hopeful that a deal to see will be agreed. Those hopes will be boosted in the Championship.

AM: CALLUM O’HARE

The Aston Villa wonderkid has been adored by City fans during his time with the club, but there still remains huge questions marks surrounding his future.

Not only will his Coventry loan expire on June 30, but so will his deal at Villa Park bringing to an end his association with the club who were there for him from the very start.

It is still expected that Villa will thrash out a new deal to keep him regardless of whether they stay in the Premier League or are relegated to the Championship – but should they fail in that endeavour then it would take only a nominal compensation fee for Robins to secure his services.

Out of City’s two midfield loan stars currently still with the club, a return for O’hare looks far more likely that a return for Liam Walsh.

The Bristol City midfielder is understood to be a key part of Lee Johnson’s plans next season at Ashton Gate having been impressed with his stellar performances in Sky Blue.

AM: BRIGHT ENOBAKHARE He certainly remains a popular figure amongst Sky Blues fans., but could Enobakhare really make a return?

Robins’ chances will certainly be boosted if the club are in the Championship and with gaps currently set to be left in his side with Callum O’hare and Liam Walsh set to return to their parent clubs next month the move would make a lot of sense.

And after all, City did have the chance to snatch him up in January before the club learned that Birmingham City had lured him up the M6.

Frustratingly for Coventry and Enobakhare, that move to St. Andrews fell through and the former Wolves man was made to spend another six months watching football from the stands.

Now released by Nuno Espirito Santo, Enobakhare is a free agent and can be snapped up, like O’hare, for no more than a nominal compensation fee.

ST: MATTY GODDEN Matty Godden will finally get a real shot at the Championship next season, should City win promotion.

He already counts five outings in the second tier, for Scunthorpe United in 2010, but has never had a fair crack at the division.

Since then he has slid down into non-league with Ebbsfleet United and picked himself back up to hit 15 goals for Coventry this season.

Robins does have two other option though, with Chelsea youngster Ike Ugbo being linked with a move already and Marc Mcnulty’s name likely to hover over the club all summer long.

But Godden has made that position his own and will do all he can to ensure he does not loosen his grip on it.

FORMER Wasps scrumhalf Rob Howley was contacted by his former club with a view to joining the coaching set-up, it has been revealed.

Earlier this year, it was heavily rumoured that Howley could be teaming back up with his fellow ex-wales international Dai Young at the Ricoh Arena. He is currently serving a suspension from rugby following multiple breaches of gambling rules which saw him miss out on Wales’ participation in the 2019 Rugby World Cup. He can return to the sport on June 16.

Throughout 2019, Wasps were linked with numerous big-name coaches with another of Warren Gatland’s Wales coaching team, Shaun Edwards, approached as well as Steve Borthwick – who opted to join Leicester Tigers after concluding his time with England.

The Daily Mail published an interview with the 1997 and 2001 British and Irish Lions tourist which revealed the heartbreak and reasons behind the gambling errors that cost him his job.

Howley also revealed that Wasps made contact with him to offer a route back in to the game.

He said: ‘Wasps
