MARK Robins has dropped a hint about Coventry City’s summer recruitment that will be music to the ears of the supporters.

The Sky Blues boss has turned his attention to strengthening his side following the club’s promotion to the Championship.

Top of the supporters’ wanted list are loan duo Callum O’hare and Liam Walsh – both of whom made outstanding contributions to City’s push for the League One title.

Attacking midfield O’hare is the more realistic option of the two given that he is out of contract with Aston Villa.

The 22-year-old, who scored four goals and provided numerous assists during his season-long spell at Coventry, may feel he is guaranteed more regular football at City – a club he’s quickly grown to love. He would come relatively cheap, with Villa entitled to a compensation fee for his services.

Walsh, meanwhile, has seen his parent club Bristol City trigger a clause in his contract which extends his contract for another year, meaning he would cost money – if they were willing to sell.

Asked about the pair, Robins couldn’t speak more highly about them.

“Those lads have been brilliant and I can’t thank them enough,” he said.

“Let’s see what transpires through this next transfer window.”

Although often reluctant to talk about other clubs’ players, asked if O’hare and Walsh come into his thoughts, the manager said: “Like I said, they have been brilliant for us and we have loved working with them.

“They have been great, fitted into an exciting group and been part of it and led some of it, everyone has been outstanding.”

He added: “Kyle Mcfadzean coming in along side Liam Kelly and Matty Godden as the more experienced players have been brilliant, but the lads who we brought in have been outstanding and that’s part of the reason we have been such a tight-knit group.

“And it looks like recruitment will take care of itself. We know what we want, the players we’re after and who we’re targeting and we’ll look to get them over the line as quickly as we possibly can.”
