More pubs close as a precaution after positive Covid case
TWO more pubs in a Warwickshire village have closed their doors after a positive coronavirus case at a neighbouring venue.
The Raven in Brinklow revealed a customer who drank there at the weekend has now tested positive for Covid and closed for a few days while a deep clean was carried out.
And now two further pubs in the village have followed suit as a precaution.
The Bull’s Head took to Facebook to tell punters: “It has come to our attention that there has been a case of Covid-19 within the village.
“Although there has been no confirmed cases within The Bulls Head, we feel that it is appropriate that we close for a deep clean, in line with the other two pubs in the village.
“We are sorry if this causes anyone any issues, but we feel the need to do this for the safety of our staff, our customers and the village as a whole.
“We will re-open on Thursday, August 6. If you have any concerns then please go and get tested to be on the safe side.”
The White Lion is also doing the same and will remain closed until the same date.
A customer who visited The Raven in Brinklow on Saturday
afternoon (August 1) has since tested positive for coronavirus. The doors have been closed a deep clean to be carried out and staff are currently contacting customers who were in the pub at the time. They are also urging all customers who visited from that date to arrange a coronavirus test immediately.
The pub added it will be contacting everyone who signed in via their track and trace system to inform them.
A statement shared on the pub’s Facebook page reads: “Following the public health guidance we advice (sic) that if you have visited the premises from Saturday, August 1, that you arrange a covid 19 test. We will be contacting everyone who has signed in on our track and trace system.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused but our customer and staff safety is priority. During this time we will be undertaking a full deep clean of the premises to ensure we are able to re open.”
