Some people lack any common decency

-

I’M appalled that somebody could stoop so low as to steal a large statue from a grave at Windmill Road Cemetery in Longford (Coventry Telegraph, 5 August).

I can only hope that these heartless thieves will understand the hurt and upset that they have caused by their callous actions and return the statue to its rightful place but sadly I won’t be holding my breath.

It seems that some people lack even a shred of common decency.

P. Sheehan, Coventry. Council right over coronavirus warning

THE Citycouncil is right to say that this is not the time for complacency as the coronavirus continues to spread throughout Europe.

Although our death rate is falling daily and our hospitals have very few Covid-19 patients in a serious condition, now is the time to try and put an end to this virus before autumn and winter approaches.

Because if we haven’t got it completely under control by then we could be in trouble again as flu season and perhaps coronavirus season hits us again.

And if that happens we could be back to how it all started and lockdown.

P. Riley, Coventry. We will remember with or without a parade

WHAT a terrible shame Bedworth’s Armistice Day parade has been called off due to the ever growing problems down to the virus.

Organisers had little choice really and I think everyone will understand the difficult decision they had to make for the safety of everyone.

But we will still remember them with or without a parade.

P. Morton, Nuneaton.
