Statistics have been published which reveal the locations where people are happiest across our region.
The latest government measure of people’s wellbeing offers an interesting barometer into how people are feeling locally.
Warwick was revealed as the happiest place in Coventry and Warwickshire, according to the latest National Wellbeing Measures figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
People in the area gave the highest score when asked to rate how happy they were the previous day.
In 2019/20, people gave a rating of 7.9 out of 10, up from 7.8 the year before despite 2020 being a notoriously difficult year so far.
Only Wyre Forest saw the same rate in the entire Midlands.
Stratford-on-avon and North Warwickshire followed with the joint second highest scores in the area, at 7.7 out of 10 each.
Nuneaton and Bedworth saw the lowest level of happiness in the area.
People gave a score of 7.2, down from 7.7 the year before.
The Government’s National Well-being Measures, which are based on a survey of 139,690 participants across the UK, showed North Warwickshire is also the area with the highest levels of life satisfaction, together with Stratford-on-avon, at 7.9 out of 10. Coventry was the place where people were least satisfied with their lives, with a score of 7.6, while North Warwickshire
was the place with the highest levels of anxiety, with people giving a score of 3.2, up from 2.5 the year before. Warwick was the place with the lowest levels of anxiety, at 2.3 out of 10.
