It’s not a crime to sing and be patriotic

-

I JUST don’t understand why the great rousing songs of the Proms are causing so much anger and controversy.

They are the highlight of the concert giving us the chance to sing loud and celebrate our country.

It’s not a crime to be patriotic and no-one can change history. It’s history that has forged this nation into what it is now. Giving us the opportunity to live as we choose, apart from the coronavirus restrictions that is, and enjoy the freedom that our history has given us.

It’s time to join together as a nation and move forward.

Take responsibility and end fly-tipping

INTERESTING to read about a fly-tipping crackdown in CT this week.

I visited my local tip at the weekend after booking an appointment earlier in the week. It all went ahead as smoothly as could be. The staff were helpful and friendly and I got the job done in minutes.

So why do people throw their rubbish in fields, parks and street corners? It is a lazy and irresponsible thing to do, leaving it for someone else to pick up.

Please take responsibility of your waste and our towns and fields will be a much nicer place.

L. Morgan, Nuneaton.

Our seasons are certainly changing

I CAN’T remember a rain-lashed and wind-battered end of summer like we are having now.

And looking back I can’t remember many springs as hot as we had in April and May.

The seasons are certainly changing, surely climate change is having something to do with it.
