Smooth ride on the new electric buses

-

I WAS pleased to read in the Coventry Telegraph that the first electric double decker buses will be making their debut in our city shortly (29/08/20).

Not only will these buses hopefully help avoid the need for Coventry to introduce a potentially disruptive clean air zone and subsequent congestion charges for motorists but if the electric taxi I took a ride in as a passenger last year was anything to go by then these type of vehicles offer a most smooth and relaxing ride.

Why has Charles got so many medals?

AS Prince Charles led the tributes to VJ Day veterans he wore more medals on his chest than the survivors of the forgotten war who had earned them.

I’m not aware of any conflicts Charles has been involved in, so surely this devalues the military honours bestowed on the men who were actually there? A.mcdonald, Coventry.

Use our town centre shops or lose them

IN reference to your recent story on the state of town centres hit by the coronavirus pandedmic.

I just can’t see how our high streets are going to survive and with the constant talk from our utterly baffling health minister warning of a second wave, shops are only going to struggle more.

We are ever closer to the point where if we don’t use our town or city centres then, like the hundreds of pubs that have closed over the past five years, we will lose them forever.

The coronavirus has been the final straw for so many businesses. A responsible government with a clear plan of what to do would have been a big help.
