Thug jailed for punching police officer and spitting at another

A THUG who launched a “deliberate attack” on two police officers has been jailed for 10 months.
Robbie Carroll punched one officer in the chin and spat at another during an incident in Coventry on June 24.
Coventry Magistrates’ Court described the violence as a “deliberate attack on a public servant carrying out public duties”.
The 22-year-old, of Queen Victoria Road, in the city centre, was handed a 10-month prison sentence after pleading guilty to two counts of assaulting an emergency worker.
He was told to pay £200 compensation to the officer he punched and £300 compensation to his spitting victim.
Carroll also admitted causing criminal damage to a communal area at a property in the city two days before the attack. He was ordered to pay £1,000 compensation for the damage.
Other cases heard at Coventry Magistrates’ Court on August 6 and 7 included: Mark Coles, 36, of no fixed address, Leamington, admitted stealing Coke, Jack Daniel’s whiskey and cigarettes worth £34 from Mccolls, stealing cheese, laundry products and coffee worth £90 from One Stop, stealing perfume worth £511 from Boots, damaging a display cabinet lock at Boots, failing to answer bail and possession of crack cocaine.
He was sent to prison for eight weeks due to “willingness to comply with a proposed requirement for a community order” and ordered to pay £345 compensation.
Beau Gallagher, 33, of Sam Gault Close, Ernesford Grange, admitted fraud by false representation (using stolen bank card to buy goods) and taking a vehicle without consent.
She was sent to prison for 17 weeks due to “flagrant disregard for court orders” and ordered to pay £28 compensation.
Jawhir Kasir, 41, of Middlemarch
Road, Radford, admitted possession of a weapon designed or adapted for the discharge of a noxious liquid.
He was given 60 hours unpaid work and ordered to pay £185 court costs and a £90 victim surcharge.
Saskia Naylor, 23, of Oldham Avenue, Wyken, admitted assault by beating against a police officer.
She was given a community order including a rehabilitation activity requirement and 100 hours unpaid work, and ordered to pay £200 compensation, £105 court costs and a £95 victim surcharge.
Kieran Chamberlain, 32, of Windsor Road, Polesworth, admitted harassment by sending numerous messages and sitting outside victim’s home.
He was handed a 12-week prison sentence suspended for 12 weeks, given 100 hours unpaid work, made subject to a restraining order and ordered to pay £135 court costs and a £128 victim surcharge.
Liam Cooley, 19, of Freesland Rise, Nuneaton, admitted two counts of assault by beating against a police officer and assault by beating against a doorman.
He was handed a six-month prison sentence suspended for six months, given a 10-week curfew with an electronic tag from 9pm-5am and ordered to pay £2,000 compensation to one of the police officers.
