JOJO AND HER GRAN ARE BACK WITH A NEW SEASON AND NEW ADVENTURES
THE animated series Jojo & Gran Gran returns to Cbeebies for 11 new autumn-themed episodes later this month.
Inspired by the wonderful relationship between a young girl and her grandmother in their bustling London neighbourhood, it’s based on the characters created by Laura Henry-allain in her book.
In ‘It’s Time for Autumn Leaves’ Jojo needs to find four different coloured leaves to complete her nature tick-book, but she can’t find a green one. Thankfully, Gran Gran – as always – has a plan.
Other episodes include ‘It’s Time to Make a Film’, which sees Jojo excited to go to the cinema to see the new Captain Chloe film, but because it won’t be out for some time, with help from pal Jared, Jojo and Gran Gran make their own pirate film at home instead.
In ‘It’s Time to Build a Den’, Cynthia is building a new greenhouse which inspires Jojo and Gran Gran to build a den in the sitting room.
Ashley Joseph, who plays Jared, says: “Jojo and Gran Gran is
so important for now and future audiences because it’s the first Cbeebies animation centred around a black British family, but also because it’s about great stories, brilliant characters and new adventures.
“It is a real honour and privilege to voice Jared as he is a fun-loving, hardworking guy who is a great role model for all young boys. Plus I get to do a lot of fun stuff, from beat boxing, running from dogs and even ice-skating just by using my voice!”
Jojo & Gran Gran is on Cbeebies Monday to Friday 5.25pm. The new series starts on October 19.
