CITY’S TOP 10 ARE A HIT FOR ROBINS

SIGNING KEY SUMMER TARGETS REPRESENTS A SOLID EFFORT IN TRANSFER MARKET

-

The transfer window for Coventry City to get deals done with international clubs closed on Monday night. They now have until October 16 to get remaining deals done with English Football League clubs. Our Sky Blues man ANDY TURNER has given his verdict on the club’s transfer business so far.

How would you rate Coventry’s transfer business so far out of 10?

“A solid 7.5. Mark Robins got key summer targets Callum O’hare and Tyler Walker over the line and found a dynamic replacement for Liam Walsh in midfield with the arrival of Gus Hamer.

City have signed ten players in all, including loan players Ryan Giles and Leo Ostigard, both of whom have hit the ground running.

We’re yet to see two of the recruits – Julien Dacosta and Marcel Hilssner – due to injury.”

What’s the best piece of business Coventry have done (incoming or outgoing) in the window so far?

“Signing Gustavo Hamer, a deep lying midfield play-maker, who has shown that he can provide everything and more that Liam Walsh offered to the team during his season-long loan from Bristol City last term.”

What’s the one deal (incoming or outgoing) Coventry could regret not getting done?

“Maybe adding a bit of young Premier League attacking sparkle with one last loan signing. Mark Robins admits he could do one more but the finances, understandably, just aren’t there in the current climate.”

What would you like to see Coventry do before the domestic window shuts on October 16? “Find a home for Gervane Kastaneer and Max Biamou, preferably on loan, so they can play regular first team football and, certainly in Biamou’s case, bang in a few goals to show he is capable of returning and fighting for his place rather than the pair of them languishing in the Under-23s.”

If there was a match tomorrow what would Coventry’s best starting XI be?

“I think that would be Marko Marosi; Michael Rose, Kyle Mcfadzean, Dom Hyam; Fankaty Dabo, Gus Hamer, Liam Kelly, Ryan Giles; Jamie Allen, Callum O’hare; and Matty Godden in a 3-4-2-1 formation.”
