BOY, 9, injured in HIT-AND-RUN near COOMBE ABBEY
APPEAL TO FIND TWO MOTORCYCLISTS WHO FLED THE SCENE OF THE COLLISION
A NINE-YEAR-OLD boy was hospitalised following a hit-and-run near to Coombe Abbey.
The youngster was reportedly hit by a dark-coloured motorcycle at the main driveway at Coombe Abbey on Sunday afternoon (October 11).
The biker, who was joined by another, was seen to be heading off along Shilton Lane, towards Builkington.
According to a Warwickshire Neighbourhood Watch Association post on Facebook, police want to trace both bikers.
One of the riders is understood to have had a black helmet with a skull on it.
“A pedestrian was in collision with a dark-coloured or black motorcycle that was accompanied by a second motorcycle.
“One of the riders may have a black helmet with a skull on it.
“The motorcycles made off at speed, and may have been sighted on Shilton Lane heading towards Bulkington a short while later, weaving at speed through traffic. “The pedestrian, who we believe was young, was taken to hospital by air ambulance.”
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) said an ambulance, paramedic officer and the air ambulance was sent to the scene.
The air ambulance was not called into action.
“We were called at 1.57pm yesterday to reports of a collision involving a motorbike and pedestrian on Brinklow Road. One ambulance and a paramedic officer attended the scene,” the WMAS spokesperson said.
“Crews treated one patient, a boy, who was the pedestrian, for injuries not believed to be serious and he was conveyed
to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire for further treatment.”
Anyone who was in the area at the time or who saw the motorbikes before or after the incident, which happened at 1.50pm, are being urged to call Warwickshire Police.
Those with information should call 101 quoting incident number 179 of October 11.
