Too many garden fires not enough clean air

-

POLLUTION prevention is a priority on the clean air scale so why are garden fires still allowed to burn all day long?

A lot of people like to put washing out on the line, however, when garden fires are burning this is not acceptable or healthy.

We have been through a lot this year with the pandemic and have been advised by the Government to open our windows to allow fresh air in. How can this happen when thoughtless individuals decide to burn their rubbish?

It seems like anyone can burn what they like and when they like. So much for clean air.

Extraordinary try decisions by the ref

HAVING watched the rugby match Wales v England on Saturday last, I am lost in admiration for the extraordinary re-interpretation of the rules by the French referee.

Who could possibly have guessed the panache, the flair, the style he demonstrably burnished in permitting the Welsh to avail themselves of two unexpected converted tries.

Being English, of course, we would not dream of criticising the referee. K. Lynch,

At least someone voted against tax increase

KUDOS to Cllr Williams for being the only elected representative on Coventry City Council to vote against the 4.9% rise in council tax.

At least somebody had the conscience and decency to oppose this increase at a time of economic difficulty for many citizens.

Remember to vote in May’s local elections everybody.

P. Sheehan,

Coventry.
