Westwood up for Classic challenge

n GOLF: Lee Westwood admits he is feeling jaded after his recent exploits and a trip to Augusta National but never contemplat­ed skipping this week’s Honda Classic.

Westwood followed a tie for 61st in the Wgc-workday Championsh­ip with runners-up finishes in both the Arnold Palmer Invitation­al and Players Championsh­ip.

“I’m a little bit tired, I must admit,” Westwood told a pre-tournament press conference. “I feel a little bit drained. My legs are feeling it a little bit. I suppose I’m not expecting too much this week, but I don’t know what to expect from myself at the moment. I’m putting well and, you know, if I’m feeling all right, there’s no reason why I shouldn’t play well.” n FOOTBALL: AC Milan star Zlatan Ibrahimovi­c is available for the crunch Europa League clash with former club Manchester United tonight.

The 39-year-old impressed during a short spell at Old Trafford, scoring in the Community Shield and EFL Cup triumphs in 2016/17 before joining LA Galaxy in March 2018.

The veteran has flourished since returning to Milan last year and is in line to face United tonight after a thigh injury ruled him out of the last16 first leg, which ended 1-1 at Old Trafford last week.

MOTORSPORT: Sabine Schmitz, the only female winner of the 24 Hours of Nurburgrin­g, has died at the age of 51.

The Top Gear presenter revealed last year she had been dealing with a rare form of cancer since 2017.

Adenau-born Schmitz’s first triumph at Nurburgrin­g came in 1996. She won again the following year.

She first joined Jeremy Clarkson on the BBC show Top Gear in 2004 and became part of the presenting team for the show in 2016.
