REGION’S BIGGEST VACCINATIONS HUB HITS A HUGE MILESTONE
COVENTRY and Warwickshire’s biggest vaccine hub has hit a huge milestone – giving the life-saving jab to 50,000 people.
It has been revealed that the Stoneleigh Covid-19 centre, based at the NAEC Stoneleigh in Warwickshire, has now vaccinated more than 50,000 Coventry and Warwickshire residents in just under two months.
It has been described as a ‘major milestone’ in the roll-out of the vaccination programme and the success is being hailed as a testament to the hard work of all the volunteers, health workers and staff involved.
Averaging around 1,000 patients a day, the Stoneleigh Park Vaccination Centre opened on Monday, January 25, and it shows no sign of slowing down.
Rob Spencer, assistant director of operations, said: “Invitations are now going out to people in Coventry and Warwickshire aged 50 to 54 to come and have their vaccine, in the latest stage of the programme.
“I want to urge anyone yet to be vaccinated to take up the offer. Text messages went out on with a link enabling people to pick a convenient slot at a NHS vaccine centre like NAEC Stoneleigh, or pharmacyled service, through the national booking service website.
