Tigers turn to Rosenior as new boss

-

HULL City have appointed Liam Rosenior as their new head coach, the Sky Bet Championship club have announced.

Former Hull defender Rosenior, 38, who recently served as Derby’s interim manager, has signed a two-anda-half-year contract and replaces Shota Arveladze, who was sacked last month.

The Tigers said: “The former full-back returns to East Yorkshire having made 161 appearances in black and amber during a five-year spell from 2010 to 2015, winning promotion from the Championship in 2012-13.

“We would like to thank Andy Dawson for his efforts as interim head coach and can confirm he will remain part of the club’s coaching staff.

“The full make-up of Rosenior’s backroom team will be confirmed in due course.”

Germany’s Timo Werner will miss the World Cup in Qatar after suffering ankle ligament damage in RB Leipzig’s Champions League win over Shakhtar Donetsk.

The former Chelsea striker was forced off after just 19 minutes of the 4-0 win on Wednesday evening.

Fulham winger Neeskens Kebano faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering from a ruptured Achilles in training.

The 30-year-old has been a key part of Marco Silva’s Fulham side this season, playing 12 times so far.

Nottingham Forest defender Giulian Biancone has been ruled out for the season after suffering an ACL injury.

The Frenchman, who was one of Forest’s 23 summer signings, sustained the injury in an innocuous training ground incident earlier this week.

He had only played 16 minutes in the Premier League this season.

On-loan Bradford City striker Kian Harratt will not play in the club’s FA Cup tie with Harrogate tomorrow after being fined for hare coursing.

The 20-year-old, who is on loan from Huddersfield, and two others were convicted of daytime poaching after appearing at Beverley Magistrates Court last month.

Harratt was fined £830 and ordered to pay £150 in costs, plus a victim surcharge of £83, Humberside Police said.
