EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE STARTS WITH A LOVE OF VOCABULARY AND READING at Keresley Grange and Keresley Newland Primary Schools.
Language, Learning, Lives
Keresley Grange and Keresley Newland work together as one successful and caring primary school, both tucked away in idyllic settings on the outskirts of Coventry, surrounded by woods and parkland. Our Nursery is based at the Keresley Newland school site, offering an all-round high-quality early years provision. We have one school leadership team and one local governing body, sharing an aspirational vision for our children and community, as part of The Futures Trust. Every one works together and what happens at Keresley Newland, happens at Keresley Grange as we are simply one family.
The core values of Language, Learning, Lives set the foundation for the Keresley children.
High academic standards are the norm at both schools and some of the highlights of 2022 are:
• Progress at KS2 at Keresley Newland for all subjects is in the top 20% of schools nationally in 2022.
• Reading, Writing and Maths at Keresley Newland was 12.7% above the Warwickshire average and 13% above the preliminary national results.
• The children of Keresley Newland scored well above the Warwickshire average for all areas of age-related standards, with Maths greater depth being almost 23% above the local average.
• Keresley Grange scored well above the Coventry average in English, showing the commitment to reading and writing in recent years.
• Progress scores at Keresley Newland were also well above the Warwickshire average, demonstrating the impact of the changes made since becoming one school with Keresley Grange.
• Teaching in all year groups is rated at least good by registered OFSTED inspectors, with a high percentage of outstanding teaching and learning across the school.
In a rich and inspiring environment, children step daily into stories, beginning their learning in Neverland Class and making their way through school to an adventure along the Lost River at the end of their time with us.
At Keresley Schools, high quality learning is all around you, with children becoming independent, highly motivated learners. Children have a Growth Mindset, where they relish challenge, and seek to push their thinking to become Leaders of Learning. Everyone knows that if you try your best, and keep trying, then you open up exciting possibilities. This sets the foundation for ‘building a brighter future.’ Because there is such a high focus on reading and the development of rich vocabulary, children at Keresley use an incredible range of words. Children read widely and aspire to be MILLIONAIRE READERS which means they have read at least a million words over the year. Both schools have achieved the SILVER READING AWARD. We know that reading and a wide knowledge of words opens the door to all learning, and gives our children a foundation to achieve their dreams and aspirations. as a starting point to become EXPERT writers.
The whole curriculum at Keresley centres around story, and children really immerse themselves in new worlds and new adventures, and are invested in their learning.
There is a real buzz around the school for EXPERT learning as our children become EXPERTS in all curriculum areas. Learning is brought to life through high quality experiences which form part of the school day and also move beyond school.
The Justice Museum, Roman Experience Days, Outward Bound activities, Twycross Zoo are just a few of the rich learning experiences that make their learning even more real. These opportunities are part of our Golden Thread of learning, where we make sure that children know that all learning builds and that it is relevant for their life beyond school. The most recent Experience Day was a visit from a Planetarium, where the children spent a day becoming EXPERT astronauts. This is a typical rich opportunity that children at Keresley experience, where they become totally invested in their leaning.
Children have excellent MUSIC lessons led by the educational director of Armonico Consort, which opens the doors to a wide range of opportunities such as taking part in concerts at The Albert Hall in summer 2022 - It Takes a City, and the Africa Singing Nation Concert in October 2022.
The Futures Trust enriches the arts with dance experts teaching the children as part of EXPERT PE learning. These provide a richness to the whole school experience, which is beyond the ‘ordinary’, although you are hard pressed to find the ‘ordinary’ in such an extraordinary school!
Children thrive on competitive sport and take part in these during the school day and beyond.
We offer a range of clubs including football, archery, chess and multi-sports in partnership with SDH Academy. These can be seasonal and include other sports such as ice-hockey and athletics.
An exciting new development at Keresley is a STEM Lab, where both schools can take part in ground-breaking technological experiences.
We have a 3D printer which helped us to become the local primary ROBOT WARS champion of 2022.
This is housed on the Keresley Newland site, but all children will be able to use this as we have our own school mini-bus, which is generously sponsored by the school PTA.

Dacia is reintroducing its popular Duster Extreme SE model with a few revisions that include the new Dacia logo and branding. It has proved to be a massive hit with customers – 20% of them choose this trim level. I’m a big fan, too, and am a sucker for the orange trim inside and out.
Prices start at £18,295 for the TCE 90 petrol two-wheel drive – and they top out at £21,565 for the diesel four-wheel drive version. As always with Dacia, you get cracking value for money.
