At 30 grams a pair, Mavic has designed these summer mitts to be as light as possible.

There’s no padding in the palms, which are made of synthetic leather, but they fare well on long rides. There are venting perforations in the palms, fingers and backs of the thumbs. The seams are unobtrusive and well placed so as not to be uncomfortable when gripping the drops or the hoods.

The back of the thumb and forefinger are designed for wiping, with the latter including Mavic’s characteristic yellow flash and logo. The rest of the backs are made of a lightweight mesh fabric for plenty of ventilation.

There’s no Velcro cuff but despite this we found the Cosmic Pros easy to get on and they stayed in place well too. For getting them off, there are slightly extended pads on all the fingers except the smallest, making it easy to grip them. They’re available in six sizes from XS to XXL and several colour combinations.
