Why no Burrows?

-

Very interesting story on the development of the Lotus bike (CW October 12) which carried Chris Boardman to Barcelona gold in the 1992 Olympics. But there was no mention of its inventor, Mike Burrows, who in 1987 introduced the concept of the one-piece monocoque design made from carbon-fibre composite. Burrows took his design to a friend of his at Lotus and the rest, as they say, is history.

Ed — While Mike Burrows was involved with the Olympic track bike, the 110 road bike was a new design by Lotus’s Richard Hill.
