DOUBLE DAY: RECOVERY RIDE & TT SIMULATION

This was a TT replicatio­n day. In the morning I did one hour easy as an activation ride to get my legs ready. In the afternoon, I headed out again, this time on my TT bike, and after a warm-up did 20km all-out. Naturally, you have to be careful doing a TT effort on the road. I deliberate­ly followed the route of a local TT event – a rolling course with a small kicker in it and some draggy roads. It was strange doing a race effort like that – nothing like a normal training ride – but it was good to mentally prepare myself by getting into the racing mindset, getting fuelled beforehand, having some caffeine, and going through the processes just like an actual race.
