The BMC Teammachine SLR is an iconic bike. It’s been ridden to victory at the World Championships and the Olympics – there is absolutely no doubting that it’s fast. Low weight means it accelerates quickly and the handling is impeccable. Riding the size 47, I found the frame harsh over bumpy terrain – I’d happily ride this over Majorcan tarmac all day, but for the pockmarked lanes of Kent, it wouldn’t be my first choice.
