How we got there

TRAVEL

Cyclist flew with British Airways from Heathrow to Milan Malpenza, flights to which are also available from Manchester and Bristol for less than £100 from a range of airlines. From there, it’s a four-hour drive to Glorenza. Bergamo, however, is significantly closer to the Stelvio at a similar price with Ryan Air. The pass is closed between November and May, so plan your trip accordingly.

ACCOMMODATION

We stayed at the Hotel Post (hotelpostglorenza.com) in the rustic medieval town of Glorenza. The hotel had a secure cellar for bike storage, and provided excellent food and drink along with a stunning view of the mountains from any room in the building. Double rooms with breakfast start at €50.
