1 MOSHUN AERO FADE SOCKS

£25, moshun.london Words are fun. Toidinaerauoy is hard to pronounce, but you are an idiot if you read it backwards. ‘National Rail Timetables’ is an anagram of ‘All trains aim to be late in’. And Moshun? Well, it’s like ‘motion’ only spelled all funky for millennials. Moshun’s socks are funky too, promising aero gains with shin-hugging Lycra uppers, and available in any colour, so long as it’s white, grey, slightly darker grey and black.

2 SKS AIRCHECKER

£26.99, zyrofisher.co.uk Range eggs. Not actually free, are they? The SKS Airchecker, on the other hand, does do exactly what it says on the box, reading tyre pressure up to 144psi on its backlit display. SKS clearly has the gravel scene in its sights – where precise pressure is paramount to grip and comfort – because the Airchecker comes with an incremental deflation button to help riders hit exact targets. It will also fit a Dunlop valve as well as Presta and Schrader, just in case your granny wants to take her shopper off-roading with you.

3 RAPHA FOR APPLE MACBOOK SLEEVE

£55, rapha.cc You can ruffle a workman’s hair, but he really prefers his asphalt. And you can get all manner of soft cases for your Macbook, but few will compare to the Rapha Sleeve. While we can’t confirm it’s spun from the wool of Himalayan mountain rabbits and stuffed with albatross feathers, we do know for sure that it’s water repellent, protectively padded and looks typically Rapha-tastic.

4 LONGHAUL ENDURANCE FUELS

£2.99 each, longhaulendurance.com Even with a bidon full of gravy and a Spork in your pocket, eating a mid-sportive roast isn’t feasible. Yet savoury whole foods are just what your cycling body needs, thinks Longhaul, so it has come up with these ‘organic blended whole food’ pouches, which it says pack a serious endurance fuel punch without the gastrointestinal upsets and synthetic tastes associated with some other types of sports nutrition. No apple crumble for afters, though.

5 CATEYE ORB BAR END LIGHTS

£19.99, zyrofisher.co.uk The scientific term defined as ‘the immaculate disdain shown by Mr Kittens upon presentation of supermarket brand cat food’, ‘Cateye’ is also a Japanese bike light giant, and its latest offerings are these nifty, light-up bar end plugs, with machined aluminium cases, 50-100 hour run time and a weight of just 40g a pair.
