Celebration at golf’s Lady Captain’s Day
being nearest to the pin (Ladies) in two on Hole 5, Kelvyn Davies, nearest to the pin (men) on Hole 12 and Peter Leach, nearest to the pin (men) in 2 on Hole 18.
Twos were won by Tina Hughes, Kelvyn Davies, Steve Walters and Ken Newman.
The raffle was wellsupported and £240 was raised for Ysgol Ty Coch. The Club President, Mr Hylton Thomas, his wife and the Lady President, Mrs Cath Fowler all attended the post-event buffet and Mr Thomas presented the Lady Captain with a bouquet in appreciation of all her hard work. The ladies have had mixed fortunes in their ongoing competitions this year.
Nevertheless, Chris. Watkins, Margaret Medlow and Pam Walters have qualified for the Wales Final of the Golf Union of Wales Medal and Bowls competition. These Finals will be held at Llandrindod Wells on August 9th. We wish them the very best of luck. The results of the club competitions are as follows:
