HEOLGERRIG A made the long trip down to John Street, Treharris and found the venue very much to their liking running out 9-0 winners over a very gallant, battling home side.

Veterans Ray Williams and Mervyn Matthews 121 took the first pairs over Chloe Samuel and Phil Clayton and then 2-0 appeared with Colin Morgan 138 and Meirion Evans breaking Hayley Samuel and Martin Jones. Old stagers Kevin Roberts and Iory Haines 121 then completed the clean sweep of the pairs with a hold over James Williams and Mark Evans for a 3-0 lead going into the singles.

King Kev Roberts 100 away, 100 beat Mark Evans in the first singles making it 4-0 and a fantastic 152 away from Ray Williams in the next leg helped him beat John Jones and put the visitors 5-0 ahead. Iory Haines 100, 125 broke Phil Clayton to extend the visitors lead further with Mervyn “The Magician” Matthews 132 then making it 7-0. Further wins for Meirion Evans and Trad Davies 100 over James Williams and Martin Jones respectively then saw the Heolgerrig side finish their league campaign on a high as they prepare for the Champions of Champions Cup.
