Ladies Choir: If you’ve a good cause to support, then Cytgord Welsh Ladies Choir could be a no-cost way to help you raise funds.

The aim of the choir is to enjoy singing, to socialise and to assist in learning Welsh. Being a Welsh speaker is not essential, since a key aim of the choir is to promote the learning of Welsh through the activity of singing.

Practices are conducted in Welsh and English to assist Welsh learners.

The choir meets to rehearse each week during school term time at Siloa Chapel, in Aberdare, next to the library, on Thursdays, from 7.15pm-9pm.

If you are interested in joining, or would like to discuss booking the choir for a fundraising event, then contact Marilyn McAdam on 01685 876809 or 07813 802673 or email: cytgordchoir@gmail.com Cynon WI: A NEW branch of the Women’s Institute in the Cynon Valley is thriving since it opened three months ago – and it already has 50 members.

The Cynon Valley WI says it wants to recruit more women to its ranks, making people within the community aware that the group is up and running, and welcomes women of all ages. The group is also active online, with its Facebook page – Cynon Valley WI – having more than 500 members.
