Intrepid threesome angling on the edge
THIS new 10-part series is a fishing show like no other – an epic adventure travelogue in which three fishing fanatics travel the globe in an attempt to catch the most extraordinary marine creatures, in as many extreme and inventive ways as possible.
Criss-crossing the planet, the triumvirate – marine biologist Tom Hird (aka The Blowfish) and his two friends Jay Lewis and Charles Butcher – face mortal danger in bear-infested Canadian rivers, bungee off bridges, dive under ice, and don chainmail armour in their efforts to catch the deadliest, biggest and most elusive fish.
But these boys are nothing if not mavericks, so to help them in their mission they build a homemade cannon to fire bait, use drones to hook a catch and play heavy metal to attract killer sharks.
Their journey takes them to the Bahamas, Peru, the Falkland Islands, Kenya, South Africa, Thailand, Laos, Scotland and Norway.
In the first episode, the intrepid trio head to British Columbia in Canada in search of salmon. Chaotic scenes ensue as they fish at night in kayaks for something to eat, then reel in a giant white sturgeon, before facing their ultimate challenge – fishing for salmon under the noses of grizzly bears
