AFC LLWYDCOED ........ 3 LLANELLI TOWN .......... 5

THE Reds gained victory number six and remained with a 100% winning record whereas Llwydcoed have lost three of their first five games. They played their part in an enthralling match and during the second half they actually had the Reds on the retreat. The match began with Llwydcoed still missing three players – Shay Friel, Luke Spencer and Jordan Ellis. The Reds were without Lee Trundle. The Reds were dominant from the start, the movement and creativity of Liam Samuel gave Llwydcoed’s defence problems, who in turn tried to cover the space created with Gabriel Williams and Rhys Welch just stopping attack after attack. The possession Llwydcoed had was minimum but they still tried to gain some possession through Christopher Vardon, Matthew Jenkins and Tomos Morris. The Reds pressure almost brought them a goal only some alert goalkeeping by Llwydcoed’s goalkeeper Andy Hargreaves kept the scores goalless after more good play by Jordan Davies and Jordan Fellows. After the first 30 minutes Llwydcoed began to gain some possession with Joe Jenkins, Tomos Morris and Adam Butler being freed of their defensive duties for most of the match to attack the Reds defence who cleared the threat through Chris Thomas and Lee Bevan. The Reds were not to be denied, they opened the Llwydcoed shape and won a penalty when their striker was fouled through on goal. Jordan Fellows scored the award. The Reds had only the one goal for their dominance in the first half. The Llwydcoed players began the second half knowing they could have been a few goals in arrears when the Reds players were rocked back on their heels after Llwydcoed’s Christopher Vardon scored with a leftfooted shot after excellent play by Adam Butler and Joe Jenkins. What a start for Llwydcoed, the match had changed totally. Llwydcoed’s Tom Morris began to win his midfield battle and brought Matthew Jenkins and Joe Jenkins into attacking positions. What a contrast to the first half after some more brilliant play by Llwydcoed’s Christopher Vardon and Joe Jenkins who never gave up Adam Butler scored from 20 yards. Llwydcoed introduced substitute Scott Walters and the Reds did the same with Bruno Forkucoh entering the play, another attacking substitution by the Reds showed how Llwydcoed had gained the momentum. The home fans began to dream of a memorable victory but that soon changed. Llwydcoed gave away a needless free kick that was played to the near post and missed by both sets of players until it reached the Reds substitute Bruno Forkucoh who had the simple opportunity to score. Back came Llwydcoed and another superb attack broke open the Reds defence only this time the Reds goalkeeper Craig Morris saved the goal-bound shot, so the match was level. That soon changed as Llwydcoed lost possession and the Reds punished them with Jordan Fellows scoring. Llwydcoed had thrown away the advantage, their goalkeeper Andy Hargreaves stopped the Reds from increasing their advantage with a string of saves but the Reds were not to be denied and Jordan Fellows scored his third to give the Reds a two-goal advantage. That soon changed after Llwydcoed were awarded a penalty scored by Christopher Vardon. So the match had reached an exciting finish. The Reds scored from another penalty Jordan Fellows took his tally to four. An enthralling match, the Reds had been tested by the young Llwydcoed team and gained another victory.
