Argos to hire 500 across Wales

ARGOS is recruiting for more than 10,000 seasonal workers, with more than 500 jobs on offer in Wales.

Customer advisers and stock assistants are needed at Argos stores to meet customer demand for toys, home products, video games, technology, sports and other popular Christmas gifts.

And Fast Track drivers are also needed. They will need great customer service skills to support Argos’ store to customer door distribution service, which is highly popular with shoppers who want same-day delivery in convenient time slots.

Initial contracts for all vacancies are around three to four months, with the potential for some roles to become permanent at the end of the season, where vacancies exist. Recruits will be offered a minimum of 10 hours per week (minimum of six hours for weekend staff ).

A spokesperson for Argos said: “Although all jobs are recruited on short-term contracts, our stores do look to turn these into permanent roles wherever possible.

“New team members will be offered competitive rates of pay which are above the minimum wage but are dependent on age, location and size of store.”
