Saints lift first trophy

This annual game remembers JV Bevan who was the league secretary for 30 years and is played between the Premier Division winners and the senior cup winners.

On 30 minutes, The Villagers were first on the scoresheet, due to an own goal from the Saints’ keeper and the score remained 1-0 at half-time.

However, the second half saw six further goals, startint with Pantyscall­og going two up through Jonathan Vaughan.

Saints got one back through an Ellis Evans penalty, but found themselves 3-1 down when Connor Eynon netted.

Saints rallied and when Aaron Sullivan scored, confidence soared and Mathew Saunders levelled the scores. With the game looking as though it would go to penalties, Richard Aspinall squeezed in a late winner leaving James Few to lift the trophy in his last game for the Saints.

Despite finding the net through goals from Neil Howells and Jon Ernest, the Rangers were put out of the cup. Goals from Nigel French, Ashley Richards and Ceri Clingo enabled the visitors to go through.

The difference in class eventually told in this game, as Hills earned a deserved 7-2 win. But they did go 1-0 down before they started to take control. Hills’ goals came from Kirby Davies with four, Charlie Loss with two and Ben Davies.

In a ding-dong thriller, it was Court who were celebratin­g at the final whistle as they edged home by the odd goal in seven.

Their match winners came from Andre Mita (2), Adam Cushen and Matthew Thomas. Replying were Carwyn Ress (2) and Nicholas Jones.

The Blues scored the only goal in the first half. Gurnos got back on terms before the home side again went in front. Gurnos earned a point through a late goal. Home scorer was Ethan Bevan and away targetmen were Jamie Devonshire and Jake Toomey.

A somewhat difficult season so far for Gellideg but they were able to celebrate after this narrow victory thanks to goals from Chris Jones and Curtis Meredith. Kyle Davies scored the home side’s goal.

Jack Bevan made all the hard work of his team mates count as he helped himself to two goals to secure the points.

The Athletic were triumphant thanks to goals from Ben Galvin (3), Max Keenan (2), Jordan Tanner, Lewis Thomas and Morgan Mayne.

Pen went into the break 3-0 up but The Town came out and soon rewarded with three goals from Liam McNulty and two from Gerson Dias. However, Pen were not to be outgunned and they scored a further three. Pen scorers were Rohan Pinch (2), McKenzie Thomas, Charlie Sears and Joshua Edwards.
