● Wonkies Update: Emma and H are two Lurcher puppies that came in two weeks apart and both had a badly damaged leg. Despite it being a really nasty break requiring orthopaedic specialist surgery Emma did keep hers. She went on foster to one of the vets who was caring for her and has since been adopted. H had a very mangled front leg caused by a dog attack and sadly it was not possible to save his. The leg has been amputated and he is making a good recovery with one of the vet nurses who foster for us.

Basil the very wobbly wonky cat attended Langford RCVS Animal Hospital in Bristol. He had an MRI scan and various tests. This is ongoing and hopefully we will soon have a diagnosis and will know if anything can be done to make him well.

Murray a black and white stray cat came in with the most horrific damage to his face. Our vets at Maesglas beat the odds and managed to save him and he has now gone to a foster home.

Lilly, one of our ex puppyfarm Bichons, went back to eye specialist hospital Rowe in Bristol and had a second operation to remove cataracts. How amazing that this little dog who came to us hardly able to see now has full vision. ● Many Thanks: We were so grateful to Media Wales for running an article in all three local papers and also online regarding our crisis situation with kittens and cats. As a result we have already found homes for five long term adults and another two have moved to foster. Homes are also in the offing for a number of our kittens. We are still receiving daily calls for help and while we will continue to help as many as we can there is a limit both logistically and financially to how many we are able to take. Until all cat owners take responsibility for neutering their pets we will have this problem every year and cats and kittens will die as a result of their not being places of safety and care for them. ● Monthly Auction: Our monthly Auctions at Pontypridd Rugby Club are very popular on the first Thursday of each month so please come along and join us. ● Wonky Calendar & Raffle: We have been busy having photos taken of some of our Wonkies for this year’s calendar. If you would be able to take some copies to sell on our behalf please get in touch. Details of our brilliant Christmas Raffle coming soon. If you are holding an event and would be willing to have us attend we would love to hear from you. ● Festive Dog Show: Keep the date. Our Christmas Fun Dog Show will be held on Saturday, December 10 at the Rhondda Fach Lesiure Centre in Tylorstown.

Father Christmas has promised to drop in and we will have all the usual show classes, stalls and the very popular Pass The Parcel with your dog. ● Our Shops: Please remember our two shops in Ton Pentre and Treorchy if you are having a clear out. Our rescue is run 100% by volunteers and every penny raised goes directly to help the animals in our care.
