PENYGRAIG .................. 1 ABERDARE TOWN ........ 2

ABERDARE Town youngsters made it eight wins out of eight with a hardfought victory in the Rhondda.

Aberdare went to Penygraig knowing they faced a side that were also unbeaten to date.

Aber started well and took the lead on 10 minutes following a great run by Jac Argyle who pulled the ball back to Jayden Pugh who finished well. Aber were in command and further efforts from Brooke Fraser, Aaron Rowling and Cameron Mchale were all saved by the keeper.

Aber’s defence was rarely troubled but when they were Thomas Jones and Ethan Wigmore were dealing with the threat. Player of the match Jarrad Hipsley was a constant threat down the right as was Tom Gardiner on the right. Dylan Pearce in a new sweeper role was comfortable on the ball when needed. Hedd Morgan in goal hardly touched the ball but his first touch in the second half was getting the ball out of the back of the net as Penygraig equalised.

The match was turning into a real spectacle and action was end to end. Aber brought on Jay Christopher and Brychan Davies as they looked to change things. Penygraig’s keeper pulled off some fantastic saves as Aber pushed for the winner.

Harri Jones was introduced in defence and was immediately called into action with a fine tackle. The winner came 10 minutes from time when Hipsley was upended in the penalty area and Pearce made no mistake with the spot kick.
