Amazing home bar inspired by hit TV show

A MAN has built a bar inspired by the hit US TV show Sons of Anarchy in his garage.

Craig Tanner, 46, is no stranger to the hospitality business – he owns the pub next door to his house in Cwmparc in the Rhondda.

But he decided to build a garage, at first without the “Sons” connection.

Craig said: “I built a little garage where me and my friends could watch a bit of rugby, a bit of sport.”

But his love of the televi- sion show, which ran for seven series and ended in 2014, led him to decide on a “Sons” theme.

He said: “To bring a little bit back home, to try to create memories of the show.”

The bar took around three weeks for Tanner to build and cost in the vicinity of £10,000.

The garage den comes complete with a republic Harley-Davidson motor- bike, photos of Charlie Hunnam as the series’s protagonist, Jax Teller, a grim reaper, anarchy signs and a large SAMCRO – Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club, Redwood Original – sign on the bar.

The SAMCRO sign and grim reaper were painted by local artist Love Art by Nat.

Craig’s favourite part of his creation is the bike.

“I quite like the bike in the bar,” he said. “When the lights go on and it shines on the bike, that’s the focal point.”

The bar has even received notice from Charlie Hunnam, who will send over some memorabilia for the nostalgic little tavern.

A series of photos of the bar received more than 9,000 reactions on a fan page for Hunnam on Face- book, with fans in America expressing their enthusiasm.

Craig said: “They want to come over to Wales to see it.”

One commenter even asked why, owing to Charlie Hunnam’s English heritage, such a bar couldn’t exist in the UK.

She was then told the bar was in Wales. Craig hadn’t watched The B*****d Executioner – “Sons” creator Kurt Sutter’s Welsh-set follow-up to Sons of Anarchy that only ran for one season – but was looking forward to the “Sons” prequel in development.

While Craig has no plans to open the bar to the public, he would consider the possibility of hiring it out on occasion.

So gather your mates, find a few motorcycles and ride up to the Rhondda –it’ll be just like riding into the California sunset – to taste the essence of the show.
