Brexit is about isolating the UK
BREXITEERS cannot perceive or share the strong, sincere beliefs of the EU, of nations cooperating to build world peace, opposing all discrimination of EU nationals, fighting international pollution, crime, drug trafficking, people trafficking, bank corruption and safeguarding the oceans. Either they are rejecting these principles, or never found them.
The Brexit belief is about isolating the UK from all these values, hoping still to enjoy free trade with the single market. That was never a sensible idea, one shared by people who believe only in market forces. People without principles cannot expect tariff-free trade with nations who are striving to create a safer world.
The strange part is that Brixiteers cannot see themselves as they are seen by others, as people destructive of civilised values, with no coherent interest in a global future, apart from UK isolation, endangering our world. Sincere beliefs must always be a greater barrier between differently motivated people than crude nationalism.
The pretence to care about the pollution of the world’s oceans is now exposed, as merely one indication of Brexit irresponsibility which goes along with their xenophobia.
Most EU citizens share higher moral values as their plan for their children’s future, but not the UK. CN Westerman Brynna
