The Eric James Memorial Trophy for the Best Conductor of the Year was awarded to Luke Jenkins of Phoenix Brass.

Youth Bands gained certificat­es for the musical standard of their concert programme. Youth Band Awards (in alphabetic­al order): BTM Beginners (Jeff Hutcherson) – Silver Certificat­e; Gwaun Cae Gurwen Juniors (Dafydd Rhys Lewis) – Bronze Certificat­e; Llwydcoed Juniors (Richard Davies) – Bronze Certificat­e; Melingriff­ith Youth (Carol Flannery Davies) – Gold Certificat­e; Rhondda Fach Youth (Angela Westacott) – Gold Certificat­e.

Best Instrument­alist – Katie and Iwan Hill (Cornet and Flugel, Rhondda Fach Youth); Best Percus- sion Section – Melingriff­ith Youth; Youngest Bass Player – Thomas Evans age 13 (Rhondda Fach Youth); Youngest Player – Noah Davies age six (Rhondda Fach Youth).

The adjudicato­rs were Derek Broadbent – Championsh­ip and Section 1; Nigel Seaman – Section 2 and David Hayward – Section 4 and Youth Section.
