THE result of any match in whatever competition is always important, but on this occasion the most important thing, and most pleasing thing, was the return to action of the legend Ken Davies for the Social Club.

The dynamic duo Derek Dobbins 140 and Dai Phelps 125 then made it 3-0 with a hold over Arwel Galliers and Kevin Downing in the final pairs for a seemingly comfortable lead going forward into the singles legs.

The first singles saw a hold for Vic Jones 2x100 over John Terrett to get the home side into the game and then they drew to within a point with Kevin Downing 100 breaking Warren Rees to make the game really exciting. Former Social Club stalwart Lloyd Davies 3x100, 121 then came back to haunt his former club with an outstanding display against Jack “The Lad” Colston 100 to put the Daggers into a 4-2 lead and they sealed victory in the very next game with Derek Dobbins 125 stunning Josh O’Keefe 2x100, 105 with a hold of throw to get through into the next round.
