BRONZE AWARDS Certificates were awarded to Under 11 soloists – Skye James, Holly Morgan, Lucy Page, Rosie Page of Ebbw Valley; Millie Colebrook, Lili Gibbs of Penclawdd; Callum Fletcher, Bevan Gregory of Upper Rhondda.

Solo Under 13 – Zoe Gregory of Upper Rhondda; Dylan Rolland of Burry Port was the Most Promising Soloist and gained the Bert Thorne Cup. Under 17 – Aiden Stannard of Penclawdd.

SILVER AWARDS Under 11 – Dylan Rowland of Burry Port; Anthony Thomas of Ebbw Valley.

Under 13 – Evan Prosser of Ebbw Valley; Brendan Dimond of Upper Rhondda.

Under 15 – Scott O’Neill, Tegan Rees Ebbw Valley.

Under 17 – Ellie Carlsen, Eloise Denny of Penclawdd; Hannah Powell of Upper Rhondda. Emanuel Williams was Most Promising Soloist and gained the Tim Bourne Memorial Award. Open Solo – Lorraine Evans of Upper Rhondda.

GOLD AWARDS Under 15 – Martha Page, Chloe Fletcher of Upper Rhondda. Under 17 – Emanuel Williams of Upper Rhondda.

DUET & TRIO Under 15

SILVER AWARDS Holly Morgan, Lucy Page and Anthony Thomas of Ebbw Valley; Scott O’Neill, Evan Prosser and Emily Robinson of Ebbw Valley.

GOLD AWARDS Eloise Denny & Ellie Carlsen of Penclawdd also gained the Trevada Music Award.

ENSEMBLE( 4 to 8 players)

SILVER AWARDS To both Ebbw Valley Junior and Pontardulais Town Junior Ensembles.

LARGE ENSEMBLE(9 to 20 players) BRONZE AWARD To Penclawdd Junior Band. SILVER AWARD To Burry Port Town Junior Band.

Gold AWARD To Pontardulais Town Junior Band.

YOUTH BAND (21 to 45 players)

SILVER AWARD To West Glamorgan Youth Training Band.

Burry Port Town Junior Band received Ted Maby Award for Most Promising Youth Ensemble.

West Glamorgan Youth Training Band gained the Mynydd y Garreg Silver Prize Cup for Best Overall Youth Band and the Trevada Music Trophy for Most Promising Youth Band.

The day proved to be a very successful one and Wayne Pedrick, Manager of Cerdd NPT Music, said: “The West Glamorgan students had a great day at this very well run Burry Port Contest.”
