Easter day dawn service: At the Bwllfa Pit Wheel in Dare Valley Country Park. Meet at the corner of Bryn Terrace and Broncynon Terrace at 5.30am for the walk up to the country park.

As well as our usual Sunday services, there will be an Easter Songs of Praise in St James’, Llwydcoed.

Holy week: Assistant Bishop of Llandaff David Wilbourne will be at St Fagan’s Church on the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of Holy Week, April 10-12, to speak at the 7pm services.

Bishop David is stepping down as Assistant Bishop of Llandaff on Easter Day, April 16, after eight years in the role.

Church open event: At St James’ on Saturday, April 22, where visitors are welcome to call into the church, enjoy the building’s early gothic architectu­re and join us for coffee and refreshmen­ts.

The church is a beautiful grade II listed building, built in 1895 with Arts and Crafts influences, and now an iconic local landmark, known as “the red church”.

A bring & buy sale is also being held. The activities take place from 10am-12noon. Gwasanaeth Cymraeg/ Welsh language service: Y Cymun Bendigaid takes place on the fourth Sunday of the month at 4.30pm in St Fagan’s

Church. Croeso i bawb/all welcome.

Songs of Praise: On Easter Day, there will be an Easter Songs of Praise in St James’ Church in Llwydcoed.

The service starts at 6.30pm, and everyone is welcome. Youth Pilgrimage: Calling all young people!

The Walsingham Youth Pilgrimage is taking place from Monday, August 7 to Friday, August 11 this year.

It’s a week of camping, worship, fellowship and fun in the beautiful surroundin­gs of Walsingham, Norfolk.

Community library: St Fagan’s Community Hall, in Windsor Street, Trecynon, is home to our community library.

A good selection of fiction and non-fiction books are available for both adults and children.

Many of the books are brand new, thanks to a generous donation when the library first opened.

You do not have to be a member to use the library.

No membership needed, just come along from 10am-12 noon, Monday to Friday – free tea and toast on Mondays!

A similar event is held at St Luke’s church hall on Thursday mornings.
