Mindfulnes­s Course: A free course is about to start at Abercwmboi RFC, every Monday from 6pm for six weeks.

All welcome – no participat­ion required, just listen and learn how mindfulnes­s can improve your wellbeing.

Aberdare Art Society: The Aberdare Art Society have an exhibition of artwork at the Aberdare Museum from May 11-26.

The museum is open Wednesday to Saturday from 11am-4pm.

The Aberdare Art Society is a group of likeminded people who meet to produce artwork from 7pm-9pm on Wednesday each week at the Roman Catholic Church Hall (Saint Therese of Lisieux), Hirwaun, CF44 9SS. Forget Me Not Cafe: Join the Alzheimer’s Society for a fun and interactiv­e afternoon.

Meetings combine informatio­n sharing, peer support and a mixture of games and activities, including a quiz and bingo.

Every Friday from 11am, with lunch at 12.30pm, the coffee pop-in offers time to chat and relax among friends.

Call Major Clements on 078544 84 192. Youngsters’ Play Session: Cynon Valley Pals hold play sessions every third Wednesday of the month at the Freeze Play Centre, Penrhiwcei­ber, from 4pm-6pm for children with disabiliti­es and their families.

Organisers say the sessions are an opportunit­y for your child to play with others, while giving you the chance to relax and meet other parents.

Ladies Choir: If you’ve a good cause to support, then Cytgord Welsh Ladies Choir could be a no-cost way to help you raise funds.

The choir is based in Aberdare and exists to help people to learn Welsh through the medium of song and have some fun along the way.

Practices are conducted in Welsh and English to assist Welsh learners.

The choir meets to rehearse each week during school term time at Siloa Chapel, in Aberdare, next to the library, on Thursdays, from 7.15pm-9pm.
