MP launches book at Commons
LONG-STANDING Cynon Valley MP Ann Clwyd launched her book last month with an event graced by individuals such as the speaker and the leader of the Labour party.
Ms Clwyd released her book Rebel With a Cause, and the launch event took place in the State Rooms of the speaker’s house at the House of Commons on April 25, with around 100 people in attendance.
As well as speaker John Bercow and Jeremy Corbyn, other notable politicians from across the main parties showed up including Lord Neil Kinnock, as well as several foreign politicians also paying their respects to Ms Clwyd, who has been MP for the constituency since 1984.
Rhiannon Gregory, who attended the event, said: “It was an emotional occasion and many there felt proud that a Welshwoman was recognized in such a way for her valuable special contribution in improving the lives of those who do not have our privileges.”
