Pub unveils new look after huge £285,000 investment
THESE pictures are from inside Pontypridd’s Hawthorn Inn following a huge £285,000 investment.
The pub on Cardiff Road, Hawthorn, has been fully refurbished by pub company, Punch, and given an extensive internal refurbishment while outside the signage and beer garden have also been improved.
It’s been run for the past 12 years by publicans Craig and Joanne David, who say they are looking forward to showing off their new-look pub after the five-week programme of work.
Craig said: “The refurbishment has gone really well and The Hawthorn Inn is now looking better than ever before. We’re very much looking forward to welcoming our customers back and get- ting on with business as usual.”
As part of the refurbishment, The Hawthorn Inn has a new menu, featuring a range of freshly prepared traditional pub meals. Offers will run throughout the week including two main course lunches for £10 from Monday to Friday; two steaks and a bottle of wine for £25 on Thursdays and Fridays; and free children’s meals between 3pm and 4pm on week days.
The owners say sports and live entertainment will continue to play a significant role at the pub. In addition to playing pool and darts, sports fans will be able to watch all of the major televised fixtures from Sky and BT.
There is also a pub quiz every Monday and regular live entertainment throughout the year.
Senior openings manager for Punch, Craig Taylor, said: “Craig and Joanne are great publicans who have put The Hawthorn Inn firmly at the heart of the local community. We are delighted to be supporting their continued success with this investment.”
