LLANHARAN RFC

-

IT is a sad reflection of the problems of rugby at lower community level that the Mid Glam Premier league, in which Llanharan’s Second XV play, ended the season with unfulfilled fixtures.

The problems of raising teams have blighted the competition with matches often called off at short notice.

It was a modest season by the Dairymen’s Second team standards, but Gavin Parsons still managed to accumulate 110 points.

The utility back included nine tries in that total, ahead of David Hussey 6, Gavin Allen 5 and Rhydian Worgan 5.

69 were scored by the whole team which won eight and lost 11 of their games, 5 wins and six defeats in the league.

The cup brought no joy either, being knocked out of both competitions.

Second row Evan James topped the appearances list with 18. David Hussey played in 17, Cris Sharkey 16, Richard Rees 15, Tom Harris 15, Paul Williams 14, Gareth McCarthy 13 and Ethan Williams 13.

Team record keeper Randal Martin reports an amazing total of 69 represented the Seconds.

Meanwhile, on the weekend a coach full of players, officials and supporters headed off for a close season tour to Portugal.
