● Autism Fundraiser: ASD Rainbows recently held their first fundraisin­g evening at Brownys Bar, Abercynon. A packed room was entertaine­d by the fantastic Voicetones and amazing singer Lydia who kindly performed voluntaril­y. More than £1,000 was raised.

Donna Jones, who recently completed the marathon, and Danielle Marie, who has supported Rainbows, were presented with beautiful bouquets very kindly donated by Gwillim Florist.

We are so grateful to those who donated raffle prizes including a hamper, pamper products, and a driving experience. We are very grateful to all who attended the evening.

ASD Rainbows are opening a unit for children with autism in September in Berkshire. If anyone would like more informatio­n please check out our Facebook page or email asdrainbow­s@mail.com.

● Cynon Valley P.A.L.S: We are a small charity that works with children with additional needs and their families.

We work with children between the ages of three and 11 years.

They participat­e in play schemes, organised activities and day trips with the support of volunteers.

● Lucky Squares: We would like to thank Aberdare Golf Club for their donation of a gift voucher which we recently used as a prize in a Lucky Squares raffle. We were able to raise some much needed funds towards running our summer play scheme.

● Women’s rugby: Mountain Ash RFC sees the return of women’s rugby following a gap of 16 years.

The age group is between the ages of 12 and 18 and they train on The Rec from 6pm every Wednesday.

● Ladies’ group: The Cynon Valley Ladies Group meet once a fortnight in the Darren Las Community Centre in Mountain Ash, on Cardiff Road, at 6.30pm.

● Cricket Club: Mountain Ash Cricket Club are currently looking to recruit senior members.

● What we do: Rowan Tree Cancer Care provides practical and emotional support to people in RCT whose lives have been touched by cancer.

Clients and families can access our free transport service to and from their cancer-related hospital appointmen­ts.

Your emotional wellbeing is extremely important to us and we offer massage, aromathera­py, reflexolog­y, Indian head massage and hydrothera­py to help you relax and de-stress.

Although our charity centre is based in Mountain Ash, we also provide free therapies every Wednesday at Tonyrefail, every Thursday at Taffs Well, and every Friday at Ynyswybwl Surgery.

We also have an outreach centre in Pontnewydd Medical Centre, Porth, every Friday. Medical consent forms need to be completed.

We have two dolls and would like give them away to two children whose lives have been touched by cancer.
